FST are entering a six man team for the challenge, specially selected for their skills, experience and character. Each member of the team poses an abundance of mental and physical strength, with just the right amount of stupidity to attempt this walk!
The walking team is supported by a specialist team of helpers ready to feed, bandage and give us a hug...
Ian Pollock
A veteran of the Challenge in 2004 (and the Army), Ian has been instrumental in the planning & implementation of a training programme, encouraging all to participate in as many walks as possible.
Gary Nicol
Gary has a love of fast cars - obviously he can't use one on the day, but that octane-powered psyche will drive the team forwards. As the self-appointed cameraman, the rest of the team know they need to be well groomed before turning up on a training walk!
Angela Conroy
The only female walker in the team, Angela is happiest in the great outdoors. As FST's Senior Account Manager for RBS, and with a team of men to manage at the Challenge, there is pride along with potential blisters at stake!
Ben Smith
Ben is the baby of our team and a member of Biggar RFC. Known to hate the cold, Ben is looking forward to sunny blue skies on the Challenge - he doesn't believe he actually has to walk through the night!
David Sneddon
Gorgeous! One of FST's technical developers but a good bloke nevertheless. Davie understands perseverance and will cope with the undulating highs & lows - much like several of his technical projects. Tipsters have him as the one to watch!
Harry Kinloch
The big guy - 6" 5'. Colleagues accuse Harry of being very in touch with his feminine side (as Marketing guys can often be), but we know that as long as the support team has supplies of hair gel, the gritty side of Big H will see it through.
Bryan Knowles
Another veteran of the Challenge in 2004, Bryan brings many skills to the support team; manager, lead driver, navigator. Thankfully we've not asked him to cook!
Lee Graham
Lee's gentle Irish lilt will provide a soothing, comforting sound to our team's weary ears. She may bring along her dog Reggie for added support - although as a Jack Russell, he won't be walking very far.
Jill Cox
Last but not least, "Coxy", the unofficial boss of the Challenge team. Enlisted primarily to support the stomachs of our team; a competent cook, first-aider, provider of clean socks, firm massages and emergency psychotherapy.
Reggie
And not forgetting Reggie, official team mascot and fussiest eater of the entire group! He always puts in a good shift, even though his belly is only 6 inches off the ground - the same could be said of a few other members of this team.
