The Board of FST Technologies is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Anthony Beaumont as Managing Director of the business.
Paul is a seasoned General Manager with a strong Sales & Marketing background. Initially commencing his career in computer operations with Unilever, Paul quickly moved into technology sales with CASE communications, an innovative UK company in the early computer communications market before moving to his first start-up building the Northern based business for Atlantic Networks, the communications arm of Atlantic Computers.
Moving to Gandalf Technologies as UK Sales Director in 1990, Paul became UK Managing Director, European Managing Director and then COO of the Corporation based in Ottawa, Canada. Paul returned to the UK in 1995 to take up the position of Managing Director of Motorola's Internet and Networking Group in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Paul then joined ADC Telecom as International Managing Director for their Broadband Access & Transport Group, successfully completing the world-wide start-up of the business outside of the USA. In 2000 Paul became Group CEO of Protek, a software group focusing on the Telecoms Billing, Network Management and Network Inventory marketplace with worldwide operations and with development facilities in Russia, Norway and the UK; Paul led a turnaround of the group before jointly leading a successful MBO and exit.

FST and the Environment
FST's carbon scoring initiative
FST have established a "green team" who are tasked with measuring the impact that our production facilities have on the environment and developing greener solutions on behalf of our clients.
The team is currently working with the Carbon Trust and BEP (Business Environment Partnership) to measure the carbon impact of various forms of customer communications, including printed documents, emails and SMS.

FST's Alternative to Christmas Cards
Instead of sending out the usual deluge of Christmas cards this year, the staff at FST decided to do something more meaningful this Christmas. Rather than spending their money on Christmas cards, members of staff combined their resources and bought a goat from Oxfam.
Our goat will be bought locally in order to give a family in the third world milk to drink, fertiliser for their crops, and kids to add to their herd. And with the extra money collected, we bought an additional 5 sacks of seed. The seeds will go to the people who need them most so they can grow more, eat more and sell surplus crops or start a seed bank to help them through hard times.
Now isn't that more useful than a pile of cards that get put in the bin come January?
We hope to continue to support families via the Oxfam program throughout 2009. If you are interested in participating you can find out more.
